The Real Time Monitor
Real Time Monitor Java Web Start Application
The Real Time Monitor may be now run as a Java Web Start application. Java Web Start technology ensures that the donloaded and executed application will use up-to-date software taking into account all platform dependencies. This is especially important for the RTM which uses OpenGL native code for the 3D graphics. Please note that as in a normal (downloaded and installed) application case a suitable graphics card is required to render 3D objects properly.
To run the stable version of the Real Time monitor as a Webstart click the button below:
By clicking the button above the 3D RTM application should be automatically downloaded and executed. The system uses jar files signed by Sun and the RTM specific jar file which is temporarily signed by a self-signed test certificate. You should accept those certificates to succesfully run the application.
If you initially see no Earth at all just the sites then do not worry. The images are downloaded and cached so when you run the program next time the start-up will be quicker.

The application shows the submitted job been sent from the Workload Management System (WMS) to a site to be processed. This is represented by a magenta line going from the WMS to a site somewhere on the Grid. Once a site has processed the work it returns the results back to the WMS. However the results can return in two states; completed successfully (yellow line returning from the site to the WMS) and failed (red line returning from the site to the WMS).
